The Moreau Family: San Diego

This past week, Ryan and I took the kiddos to San Diego for our first family vacation. We had such a great time. The weather was beautiful, the kiddos were fantastic and we did a lot of relaxing. We left Saturday night after I attended a wedding with my mom in YC and Ryan drove all night to San Diego. We arrived around 7am and headed for breakfast. After seeing if we could check in early at our hotel (we couldn't) we headed to a park where the kiddos and I played while Ryan slept in the car. After a few hours there, we woke Ryan up and headed to Junipero Serra Museum. We checked out the exhibits, climbed the stairs all the way to the top of the steeple and then went to lunch. After lunch we were finally able to check in. We all took a LONG nap, then ordered pizza and went swimming at the pool.
Monday we headed to Mission Beach and spent the afternoon playing in the sand, chasing waves and enjoying the beautiful weather. Afterwards we hung out at the boardwalk and let the kiddos ride the carousal, shopped and had some yummy food. Tuesday we went to Balboa Park and enjoyed the play equipment. Took a long nap and then headed to Escondido for a BBQ at the Perez house. Ryan used to be great friends with Carlos and got to know his family very well. They were all so very nice and of course, had a TON of food. Hot dogs, hamburgers, chicken, carne asada, homemade guacamole and a ton more... We ate dinner and the kiddos enjoyed playing outside in Pablo's beautiful backyard.
Wednesday we got up, had breakfast and hit the road. We decided to take 395 all the way to Reno and it was a beautiful drive. The kids were great passengers and we only stopped 2 times for lunch and dinner. We had a great time and I told Ryan he should see if San Diego PD is hiring. I fell in love with the city and wouldn't mind living at the ocean!
